MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - September 30, 2002 - Intuit's (NASDAQ: INTU ) Professional Accounting Solutions Group, the company's division dedicated to assisting accounting professionals to better serve their small business clients and improve their own bottom line, today debuted a series of new Customer Advisory Councils focused on understanding the profession's emerging needs. Thanks to participants' invaluable insights, the councils help to put Intuit at the forefront of developing products and services tailored to the complex and evolving requirements of accounting professionals and their clients.

The new accountant-oriented Customer Advisory Councils are forums designed to tap into the knowledge and perspective of accountants surrounding a number of products and services:

Customer Advisory Council for QuickBooks® Professional Advisors. The Council focuses on the needs of members of the QuickBooks Professional Advisors Program(SM) and ways for Intuit to offer more value and benefits to members who are accounting professionals.
Customer Advisory Council for Payroll. Oriented toward professionals that use or refer Intuit's payroll services, the Council identifies developments in this field and how the company can best respond to accountants' emerging requirements.
Customer Advisory Council for QuickBooks Financial Software. Aimed at the needs of accountants using Intuit's flagship accounting software platform, the Council establishes how to best improve and streamline the product and its functionality.
ProSeries® and Lacerte® Customer Advisory Councils. These councils target the needs of accountants utilizing Intuit's award-winning ProSeries and Lacerte families of professional tax preparation software. The councils highlight next steps for streamlining and enhancing users' experiences with the products.

Meeting on a regular basis throughout the year, the councils hammer through such critical issues as day-to-day job demands, emerging professional requirements, and product and service usability.

Further, the councils provide a forum for Intuit to present prototypical products and services in order to gauge their potential effectiveness in helping accountants better serve clients and improve their own bottom line. Given small business accountants' increasingly varying workload-tax preparation, business and employee management, and even technology consulting-the guidance that Council members provide will be imperative to Intuit's development of next-generation products and services.
